Summer Reading Program

The purpose of the Summer Reading Program is to encourage children to continue reading during the summer months. Children are at risk of dropping several reading levels during summer vacation if they do not read.

We want to make summer reading a fun thing and our program is designed to provide motivation and fun for elementary school aged children.

Registration

There is no fee for the Summer Reading Program but a library membership is required. For those families who do not have a membership and do not live within Steinbach city limits, we are offering a special two month family membership.  From June 16th through August 31st, if there is at least one child registered in the reading program, the cost of a library membership is only $10.00.  The entire family may use the library during these dates.   At the end of summer, the household would be able to continue using the library by paying the balance for a year’s membership ($57).  The R.M.s of Hanover and Ste. Anne offer partial rebates to their residents.  Please contact the library for more information. .

Registration begins June 16th and ends July 5th to qualify for the Grand Prizes.
