Services for Visually and Print Disabled The Jake Epp Library received funding to purchase a Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) that is available to any member of the public with visual impairment. This equipment allows an individual to place any reading matter on a small platform and the enlarged print is displayed on a viewing screen. The CCTV sits on a hydraulic table that is easily raised and lowered so the display screen will be at the viewer’s eye level for comfortable reading.
The Library is also a partner in VisuNet and can assist the visually disabled and print disabled to order audio books and magazines and other material for their personal enjoyment. Inquire at the Library for more information. We also partner with CNIB and we have CNIB talking books and Daisy Readers available to those who are either CNIB members or print disabled. |
